Lemoore Air Show 2019

Featuring The Blue Angels

On September 21, 2019, my son Greg & I went the air show at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore, CA. For me, it was probably one of the best air shows I've ever been to. The had aircraft from pre-WW2 up the new F-35. Boy, was that thing fast and loud!

The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star is a subsonic American jet trainer. It was produced by Lockheed and made its first flight in 1948. The T-33 was developed from the Lockheed P-80/F-80 starting as TP-80C/TF-80C in development, then designated T-33A.

Top speed: 600 mph
Wingspan: 39′ 0″
Range: 1,274 mi
Engine type: Allison J33

I used to work for a company that used to overhaul the J-33 jet engine back in the day. A friend of mine has way more technical knowledge of this aircraft and it's engine. Anyway, the pilot flying that plane came over from Germany to fly it for the air show! He is a Lufthansa pilot. Some guys have all the fun!
